Hello, I’m Heather Crompton at Form Artworks. I live and work in rural Huddersfield. I am interested in ideas of beauty and making work that is accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. I try to produce my work as sustainably as possible and work with locally sourced timber which mostly results as arisings from necessary tree work or from reclaimed industrial timbers.
My aim is to work with the material, enhancing its features and textures, creating pieces that are both beautiful and tactile. All my sculptures are designed to be touched and felt. My held pieces are designed to be comfortable in the hand, spoon handles made particularly for arthritic and stiff fingers so they are practical as well as lovely.
Each piece is unique and is created with real attention to detail and finish.
